Charley Pride was an American country singer born in 1934 in Sledge, Mississippi. Throughout his career, he achieved 29 number-one country hits and 52 top-10s. His most notable songs include "Kiss an Angel Good Mornin'", "Is Anybody Goin' to San Antone", and "Just Between You and Me". In 1971, he received the Entertainer of the Year award from the Country Music Association, and in 2000, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
