Christian McBride is an American jazz bassist, composer, and arranger, born on May 31, 1972, in Philadelphia. Throughout his career, he has won nine Grammy Awards and appeared on over 400 recordings as a sideman. His notable albums include "Gettin' to It" (1995), "Kind of Brown" (2009), and "The Good Feeling" (2011). McBride has collaborated with artists such as Freddie Hubbard, Herbie Hancock, and Sting. He is known for his proficiency on both double bass and bass guitar and is regarded as one of the leading jazz bassists of his generation.
