Christopher Icasiano is a Filipino-American percussionist and composer who released his debut solo album "Provinces" in 2020 under Origin Records. The album features two suites that explore the complexity of cultural identity and community as a second-generation immigrant in Seattle. Composed predominantly on drums, the virtuosic rhythmic patterns evoke melodies over long cyclical phrases, complemented by keyboards and percussion instruments. Field recordings from his first trip to the Philippines are integrated into the album, creating a unique soundscape.
