Christy Moore is an Irish folk singer, songwriter, and guitarist known for his political and social commentary. He was a founding member of the bands Planxty and Moving Hearts and achieved significant success as a solo artist. His 1984 album "Ride On" features the title track, which remains one of his most popular songs. Moore is recognized for his unique style, incorporating rhythmic acoustic guitar and bodhrán playing, as well as slower ballads. His brother Barry, known by the stage name Luka Bloom, is also a singer-songwriter. In 2007, Moore was named Ireland's greatest living musician in RTÉ's People of the Year Awards.
