Chubby Checker, born Ernest Evans, is an American singer and dancer known for popularizing the Twist dance with his 1960 hit "The Twist." This single reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 twice, in 1960 and 1962. Other notable songs include "Let's Twist Again" and "Limbo Rock." In 2014, he was inducted into the National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame, and in 2025, he was selected for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
