Clarence White was an American guitarist and singer, known as a member of the bluegrass group The Kentucky Colonels and the rock band The Byrds. He was a pioneer of country rock in the 1960s and, together with Gene Parsons, invented the B-Bender, a device that allows emulation of the pedal steel guitar sound. White also worked as a session musician for artists like the Everly Brothers and Joe Cocker. In 2016, he was inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Association Hall of Fame.
