Claude Nougaro was a French singer and poet known for his unique fusion of jazz and chanson. Born in Toulouse in 1929, he began his career as a lyricist for other artists before performing his own songs in 1962, gaining widespread recognition. His notable works include "Le Jazz et la Java," "Cécile, ma fille," and "Tu verras." Throughout his career, he released several significant albums, such as "Le Cinéma" (1962), "Bidonville" (1966), and "Nougayork" (1987). His music often blended jazz elements with traditional French chanson, creating a distinctive style. He passed away in 2004 in Paris.
