Clifford Thornton was an American multi-instrumentalist and composer known for his contributions to free jazz. In 1969, he released the album "Ketchaoua," recorded in Paris and featuring his own compositions. It was influenced by his performance at the Pan-African Cultural Festival in Algiers in 1969. Thornton was also known for his political activism, and his music often reflected his social and political views.
