empty cell Coldwater Stone
Coldwater Stone was the pseudonym of Freddy Briggs, an American composer and producer who released the album "Defrost Me" in 1973. This album, known for its soul and funk sound, achieved cult status due to its rarity and quality. Briggs was also known as the husband and business partner of singer Kim Tolliver. As a songwriter, he penned "Strung Out Over You" for The Dells and "You're Driving Me Into The Arms Of A Stranger" for Mavis Staples. He also collaborated with Darryl Carter on projects for Margie Joseph. Despite "Defrost Me" becoming a rarity due to financial issues at the GSF label, the album was later reissued and gained recognition for its contribution to soul music.
