Concentus Musicus Wien is an Austrian baroque music ensemble founded in 1953 by Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Alice Harnoncourt in Vienna. The ensemble is renowned for its historically informed performances of baroque and classical music on period instruments. Notable recordings include the complete cycle of Johann Sebastian Bach's cantatas, recorded between 1971 and 1990. The ensemble has also collaborated with the Arnold Schoenberg Choir and the Leonhardt-Consort. Concentus Musicus Wien has received several awards, including the Gramophone Award for Special Achievement in 1990 for the recording of the complete Bach cantatas.
