Curtis Amy was an American jazz saxophonist born in Houston, Texas. During his military service, he learned to play the tenor saxophone. After graduating from Kentucky State College, he worked as a teacher in Tennessee while performing in Midwestern jazz clubs. In the mid-1950s, he moved to Los Angeles and signed with Pacific Jazz Records. Between 1960 and 1963, he released six albums, including the 1963 "Katanga!" featuring trumpeter Dupree Bolton. Amy also served as musical director for Ray Charles's orchestra and collaborated with artists such as The Doors and Carole King. The products available from the artist Curtis Amy include vinyls.
