Dakota Staton was an American jazz vocalist who gained international acclaim with her 1957 hit "The Late, Late Show." Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she studied music at the Filion School of Music. Throughout her career, she recorded over 30 albums, including "In the Night" and "Dynamic!" She collaborated with notable musicians such as George Shearing and Harry "Sweets" Edison. Her musical style encompassed jazz, R&B, and soul.
