Dave Pietro is an American jazz saxophonist known for his ability to integrate world music into jazz. His 2008 album "The Chakra Suite" blends post-bop with Indian and Brazilian influences, with each composition inspired by one of the seven chakras. On this album, Pietro plays various saxophones, including soprano and alto, collaborating with musicians such as guitarist Rez Abbasi and pianist Gary Versace. The album was recorded at Systems Two Studios in Brooklyn in 2007 and released by Challenge Records.
