David Murray is an American jazz saxophonist and clarinetist, known for his innovative playing and contributions to avant-garde jazz. Throughout his career, he has released over 150 albums as a leader or collaborator. Notable works include albums such as "Ming" (1980), "Home" (1982), and "Special Quartet" (1991). Murray is also a founding member of the World Saxophone Quartet. He has collaborated with artists like James Blood Ulmer, Jack DeJohnette, and Kahil El'Zabar.
