David Murray & The Gwo-Ka Masters is a musical collaboration between American jazz saxophonist David Murray and the Guadeloupe-based group Gwo-Ka Masters. Their 2009 album "The Devil Tried to Kill Me" blends jazz with traditional gwo-ka rhythms. The album features seven tracks, including "Kiama for Obama" and "Africa" with guest vocalist Taj Mahal. This project continues Murray's previous collaborations with the Gwo-Ka Masters, such as the albums "Yonn-Dé" and "Gwotet".
