David Zinman is an American conductor renowned for his interpretations of classical repertoire. He served as music director of the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich from 1995 to 2014, where he recorded the complete symphonies of Beethoven and Mahler. Prior to that, he was music director of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. His discography includes over 100 recordings, earning him five Grammy Awards and other international accolades. Zinman is also known for collaborations with soloists such as Mitsuko Uchida and Yo-Yo Ma. In 2000, he was named Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture.
