Dawda Jobarteh is a Gambian musician and kora player from a prominent griot family. He is the grandson of Alhaji Bai Konte, the first kora player to introduce the instrument to the United States, and the son of Amadou Bansang Jobarteh. Dawda began his musical career as a percussionist with Gambia's Salaam Band and later moved to Denmark, where he collaborated with jazz guitarist Pierre Dørge and drummer Stefan Pasborg. His discography includes albums such as "Northern Light Gambian Night" (2011), "Transitional Times" (2016), "I Met Her by the River" (2018), and "Soaring Wild Lands" (2022).
