De Staat is a Dutch alternative rock band from Nijmegen, formed in 2006. Their debut album, "Wait for Evolution," was released in 2009, followed by "Machinery" (2011), "I_Con" (2013), and "O" (2016). The band is known for their eclectic style, blending elements of alternative rock, electronic rock, and experimental rock. In 2014, they received the Edison Award for Best Rock Album for "I_Con." In 2016, they supported Muse during their European Drones World Tour. Their song "Witch Doctor" from the "I_Con" album won the Best Concept award at the Berlin Music Video Awards in 2016.
