Death SS is an Italian heavy metal band formed in 1977 in Pesaro by vocalist Steve Sylvester and guitarist Paul Chain. Their debut album, ...in Death of Steve Sylvester, was released in 1988, followed by Black Mass (1989) and Heavy Demons (1991). The band is known for its horror-themed image and lyrics, often exploring topics such as evil, horror, and Satanism. Their musical style incorporates elements of heavy metal, doom metal, and later industrial metal. Death SS has influenced numerous metal bands, including the Swedish group Ghost.
