Dengue Fever is an American band from Los Angeles that combines Cambodian rock and pop from the 1960s and 70s with psychedelic rock and other world music styles. The band was formed in 2001 by brothers Ethan and Zac Holtzman, who independently discovered Cambodian music. They were joined by vocalist Chhom Nimol, known in Cambodia, and other members. Their debut album, 'Dengue Fever,' was released in 2003 and featured mainly Cambodian cover songs. Subsequent albums, such as 'Escape from Dragon House' (2005) and 'Venus on Earth' (2008), showcased original compositions. Their latest album, 'Ting Mong,' was released in September 2023.
