Deniz Tek is a guitarist, singer-songwriter, and producer from Ann Arbor, Michigan. His music career, rooted in late-60s Detroit rock, spans several decades and continents. He is best known as a founding member of the influential Australian band Radio Birdman. In 2021, he collaborated with producer Andy "Mort" Bradley on the project Deniz Tek & The Mortmen, recording new versions of the classic hits "San Francisco Girls" and "Hot Smoke & Sassafras." The recordings were made at the legendary SugarHill Studios in Houston, which was central to the psychedelic scene of the 1960s.
