Despised Icon is a Canadian deathcore band from Montreal, Quebec, formed in 2002. The band is known for its dual vocal approach and the technical drumming of Alex Pelletier. Their debut album, "Consumed by Your Poison," was released in 2002, followed by "The Healing Process" in 2005 and "The Ills of Modern Man" in 2007. After disbanding in 2010, the group reunited in 2014 and released "Beast" in 2016 and "Purgatory" in 2019. Despised Icon is considered a pioneer of the deathcore genre.
