The children's singing group Šafolka was established in 2004 at the Elementary Art School in Smižany under the leadership of Mgr. Marcela Maniaková. The group consists of boys and girls aged 6 to 15 who focus on interpreting traditional folk songs from Spiš, Šariš, Zemplín, and other regions of Slovakia. Šafolka closely collaborates with the children's folklore ensemble Oriešok and the children's folk music group Oriešok. In 2019, they released their debut album "Šafolka a kamaráti." The group has received several awards, including a gold rating at the national children's folk music festival Vidiečanova Habovka in 2016.
