Dick Curless was an American country singer known for his distinctive baritone voice and authentic style. Born in 1932 in Fort Fairfield, Maine, he began his music career in 1948 as a radio show host and member of The Trail Blazers band. During the Korean War, he served in the army and performed under the name "Rice Paddy Ranger." In 1965, he achieved national success with the hit "A Tombstone Every Mile," which reached the top 5 on the Billboard country chart. Throughout his career, he had over 20 hits on the Billboard country chart and collaborated with artists like Buck Owens and Kay Adams. He passed away in 1995 at the age of 63.
