Disappears is an American rock band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 2008. The band played a mixture of shoegaze, krautrock, and garage rock. They released five studio albums: "Lux" (2010), "Guider" (2011), "Pre Language" (2012), "Era" (2013), and "Irreal" (2015). In 2011, Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth joined them as a drummer but left in 2012 due to scheduling conflicts. The band has been on hiatus since 2016, with some members pursuing other musical projects.
