Disincarnate was an American death metal band formed in 1992 by guitarist James Murphy, who had previously played with Death, Obituary, and Cancer. In 1992, they recorded the "Soul Erosion" demo at Morrisound Studios in Tampa, Florida, produced by Scott Burns. This demo led to a deal with Roadrunner Records, and in 1993, they released their sole album, "Dreams of the Carrion Kind." The album was noted for its technical complexity and intricate song structures. After the album's release, the band disbanded, and Murphy continued his career with Testament and other projects.
