Djabe is a Hungarian jazz-rock band formed in 1996. The name "Djabe" is derived from the Akan language, meaning "freedom". The group blends jazz with elements of Hungarian and African music. In 2003, they began collaborating with British guitarist Steve Hackett, a former member of Genesis. Together, they have released several albums, including "Life Is A Journey – The Sardinia Tapes" (2017) and "Back To Sardinia" (2019). In January 2024, they recorded the album "Freya – Arctic Jam" during their stay in Norway. Djabe received the eMeRTon Award in 2001 for their album "Update".
