Django Reinhardt was a Belgian-French jazz guitarist and composer, recognized as one of the first significant European jazz musicians. In 1934, he co-founded the Quintette du Hot Club de France with violinist Stéphane Grappelli, one of the first jazz groups to feature the guitar as a lead instrument. His most notable compositions include "Minor Swing," "Daphne," and "Nuages." Reinhardt's music blended jazz with Romani influences, creating the unique style known as gypsy jazz. Throughout his career, he collaborated with many American musicians, including Duke Ellington. He passed away in 1953 at the age of 43.
