In 1941, the orchestra members gifted her the band, which she renamed Dolly Dawn and Her Dawn Patrol. Among her most notable recordings are "You're a Sweetheart" and "When Your Lover Has Gone." Throughout her career, she focused on jazz and vocal music. In 1999, she released the album "Smooth as Silk" with The Manhattan Nighthawks, showcasing a more mature and intimate singing style.
