Don Gibson was an American country singer and songwriter, known for hits like "Oh Lonesome Me" and "I Can't Stop Loving You". Born in Shelby, North Carolina, he began his career with the band Sons of the Soil. In 1957, he signed with RCA Victor and collaborated with producer Chet Atkins, contributing to the development of the Nashville sound.
