Don Julian (April 7, 1937 – November 6, 1998) was an American R&B, funk, and soul singer, guitarist, and songwriter. Born in Houston, Texas, he moved to Los Angeles as a teenager, where he formed The Meadowlarks, later known as The Larks. In 1954, they achieved success with "Heaven and Paradise." In 1964, they released "The Jerk," which reached number one on the Billboard R&B chart. Julian is also known for composing the soundtrack to the 1973 blaxploitation film "Savage!"
