Don Preston is an American pianist and composer, best known for his collaboration with Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention. The 2001 album "Transformation" features interpretations of compositions by Zappa, Cole Porter, Carla Bley, John Carter, and Preston himself. Released under the Cryptogramophone label, the album includes nine tracks, such as "The Eric Dolphy Memorial Barbeque" and "Walking Batteriewoman". Preston is recognized for his contributions to jazz and fusion music.
