Dr. Octagon is the artistic alter ego of American rapper Keith Matthew Thornton, known as Kool Keith. This project began in 1996 with the release of the debut album "Dr. Octagonecologyst," a collaboration with producer Dan "The Automator" Nakamura and DJ Qbert. The album is noted for its avant-garde approach to hip-hop, combining surreal lyrics with innovative production. After more than two decades, the trio reunited and released "Moosebumps: An Exploration Into Modern Day Horripilation" in 2018. Dr. Octagon is considered a significant project in the realm of alternative hip-hop.
