Duke Jordan was an American jazz pianist known for his participation in Charlie Parker's quintet in 1947. In 1960, he released his only album for Blue Note, "Flight to Jordan," which features six of his original compositions. The album was recorded on August 4, 1960, at Van Gelder Studio in New Jersey and includes musicians such as Dizzy Reece on trumpet, Stanley Turrentine on tenor saxophone, Reggie Workman on bass, and Art Taylor on drums. Jordan's music is characterized by strong melodies and variety, making "Flight to Jordan" one of his finest recordings.
