Dystopia was an American crust punk/sludge metal band formed in Orange County, California, in 1991. Their music combined elements of sludge, doom, punk, and death metal, often incorporating sound samples, especially movie quotes. The band's lyrics addressed themes such as environmental issues, racial equality, substance abuse, and animal rights. Notable albums include "Human = Garbage" (1994), "The Aftermath" (1999), and "Dystopia" (2008). The band disbanded in 2008 following the release of their final album.
