Ebony Rhythm Band was a funk group from Indianapolis, formed in 1969. Initially, they served as the backing band for The Vanguards and recorded for Lamp Records. Their sole contemporaneous single, "Soul Heart Transplant" / "Drugs Ain't Cool," was released in 1969. In 1970, they merged with King James Version and relocated to Los Angeles, rebranding as Ebony Rhythm Funk Campaign. In 2004, they released the compilation "Soul Heart Transplant: The Lamp Sessions," featuring their rare recordings from 1969-1970. The products available from the artist Ebony Rhythm Band include CDs.
