empty cell Edguy
Edguy is a German power metal band formed in 1992 in Fulda by Tobias Sammet, Jens Ludwig, Dominik Storch, and Dirk Sauer. Despite initial rejections from record labels, they self-released their unofficial debut album, "Savage Poetry," in 1995. They gained wider recognition with albums like "Vain Glory Opera" (1998) and "Theater of Salvation" (1999). Their musical style evolved from power metal to hard rock, evident in albums such as "Rocket Ride" (2006) and "Tinnitus Sanctus" (2008). The band is known for energetic live performances and extensive world tours. As of March 2020, Edguy is on hiatus while Tobias Sammet focuses on his side project, Avantasia.
