Edward H. Tarr was an American trumpeter and music educator, renowned for his specialization in the baroque trumpet and historical performance practices. After studying with Adolph Herseth and Roger Voisin, he moved to Switzerland in 1959 to continue his musicology studies under Leo Schrade. Tarr was active as a soloist and recording artist, with a discography that includes works such as "The Art of the Baroque Trumpet" and "Trumpet Concertos". He collaborated with conductor János Rolla and the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra. Tarr was also the author of scholarly publications on the history of the trumpet and its repertoire.
