Egon Kracht is a Dutch composer and double bassist known for his modern religious works. His 2014 album "Stabat Mater Stabat Pater" is the third piece in a trilogy that includes "St. Matthew's Passion" and "Judas Passion". These works explore human aspects of suffering outside traditional religious contexts. Kracht collaborated with lyricist Jeroen van Merwijk on "Judas Passion" and recorded at the Evangelisch Lutherse Church in Haarlem. His music blends classical and vocal genres, utilizing instruments such as trumpet, Hammond organ, double bass, cello, soprano, and violin.
