El Canto del Loco was a Spanish pop rock band formed in 1994 in Madrid. The group consisted of Dani Martín (vocals), David Otero (guitar), and Chema Ruiz (bass guitar). They released five studio albums, including "A Contracorriente" (2002), "Estados de Ánimo" (2003), and "Zapatillas" (2005). Their music blended pop rock with elements of punk and alternative rock. The band received several awards, including the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Spanish Act in 2005. In 2010, they announced a hiatus, and the members pursued solo projects.
