Elf was an American rock band active in the 1970s, known for their blend of hard rock and blues rock. They released three albums: "Elf" (1972), "Carolina County Ball" (1974), and "Trying to Burn the Sun" (1975). The band was noted for their energetic sound and the distinctive vocals of Ronnie James Dio. After Elf disbanded, some members joined Rainbow, founded by Ritchie Blackmore.
