Eliahu Inbal is an Israeli conductor renowned for his interpretations of late-Romantic works and premieres of modern compositions. He studied violin and composition at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and conducting at the Conservatoire de Paris. In 1963, he won first prize at the Guido Cantelli conducting competition. From 1974 to 1990, he served as the principal conductor of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, recording complete symphonies of Bruckner and Mahler. He also held positions as chief conductor at La Fenice in Venice and the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. In 2019, he became the chief conductor of the Taipei Symphony Orchestra.
