Ellende is an Austrian black metal project founded in 2011 by Lukas Gosch (L.G.) as a solo endeavor. The name derives from the Middle High German word "ellende," meaning "in foreign lands" or "exile." Their discography includes albums such as "Ellende" (2013), "Todbringer" (2016), "Lebensnehmer" (2019), and "Ellenbogengesellschaft" (2022). The musical style blends elements of black metal with atmospheric and post-black metal influences. L.G. serves as the primary composer and lyricist, with live performances featuring session musicians. The band has performed at various European festivals and has gained recognition within the underground metal scene.
