Embryo is a German music band from Munich, founded in 1969. The group is known for its unique fusion of progressive rock, krautrock, jazz fusion, and world music. Their most significant albums include "Opal" (1970), "Embryo's Rache" (1971), "Father, Son & Holy Ghosts" (1972), and "Steig Aus" (1973). Throughout their career, they collaborated with numerous musicians, including Charlie Mariano and Mal Waldron. In 1979, they embarked on a nine-month tour to India, documented in the film "Vagabunden Karawane." The band was awarded the German world music award RUTH in 2008. After the death of founder Christian Burchard in 2018, the band has been led by his daughter, Marja Burchard. The products available from the artist Embryo include vinyls.
