Emerson, Lake & Palmer was an English progressive rock supergroup formed in London in 1970. The band consisted of Keith Emerson (keyboards), Greg Lake (vocals, bass, guitars), and Carl Palmer (drums, percussion). They are known for their adaptations of classical music with elements of jazz and symphonic rock. Their most notable albums include "Emerson, Lake & Palmer" (1970), "Tarkus" (1971), and "Brain Salad Surgery" (1973). The band sold approximately 48 million albums worldwide and received nine gold records from the RIAA in the United States.
