Emily Haines is a Canadian singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist and keyboardist for the indie rock band Metric. In addition to her work with Metric, she is a member of the collective Broken Social Scene and leads her solo project, The Soft Skeleton. Her solo debut, "Knives Don't Have Your Back," was released in 2006, followed by "Choir of the Mind" in 2017.
