Emmet Cohen is an American jazz pianist, composer, and bandleader. Born in Miami, Florida, he began playing piano at the age of three. He studied at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami and earned a master's degree from the Manhattan School of Music. Cohen is known for his "Masters Legacy Series" albums, collaborating with notable jazz musicians such as Jimmy Cobb, Ron Carter, and Benny Golson. In 2021, he released "Future Stride" under Mack Avenue Records. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he launched the weekly livestream series "Live from Emmet's Place," which received widespread acclaim. In 2024, he released "Vibe Provider" as a tribute to his friend Michael Funmi Ononaiye.
