Empirical is a British jazz group formed in 2007. The band consists of Nathaniel Facey (alto saxophone), Shaney Forbes (drums), Lewis Wright (vibraphone), and Tom Farmer (double bass). Their albums include "Empirical" (2007), "Out 'n' In" (2009), "Elements of Truth" (2011), "Tabula Rasa" (2013), and "Connection" (2016). In 2010, they won the MOBO Award for Best Jazz Act, and in 2009 and 2016, they were honored at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards as Best Ensemble.
