Ensemble Arborescence is a French vocal group specializing in the performance of medieval music. Under the direction of David Chappuis, the ensemble has presented works by composer Philippe de Vitry (1291–1361), including motets such as "Adesto sancta Trinitas" and "Quoniam secta latronum". Their program "Douce Playsence" also features interludes by Chappuis that complement the historical pieces. The group focuses on authentic interpretations of medieval polyphony, utilizing a cappella singing to highlight the harmonies and dissonances characteristic of the era. Their performances are the result of several years of research and study into medieval music.
