Ensemble Tamuz is a chamber group founded in Berlin in 2017. They focus on historically informed interpretations of classical and romantic music, utilizing original scores and historical documents. The ensemble strives for faithful and personal performances, emphasizing expressiveness. Their repertoire includes works such as J.S. Bach's "The Art of Fugue," string quintets by Schubert, Onslow, and Boccherini, as well as arrangements of songs by Beethoven and Fanny Mendelssohn. Ensemble Tamuz has performed in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, and Germany, including a debut concert at the Konzerthaus Berlin. In 2022, they collaborated with Professor Clive Brown on research into romantic performance practice at the Centro di Musica Antica in Pavia, Italy. In 2023, they recorded quintets by Schubert and Onslow for WDR in Cologne. In 2025, they plan to release their first album featuring George Onslow's string quintets under the Arcana/Outhere Music label. The ensemble also collaborates with young composers to bridge the music of past centuries with contemporary works.
